From Tiny Acorns…
Olive & Barr was born out of a need for quality British craftsmanship, attention to detail and an intuition for kitchen design.
Founder Al Bruce began his illustrious career 25 years ago studying to be a cabinet maker at college. From humble beginnings, his natural skill in the craft of cabinetry and keen business acumen saw him quickly rise up through the ranks of the handmade kitchen industry, gaining invaluable experience and a wealth of knowledge along the way. With a natural flair for design and a deep passion for the industry, Al finally opened his own Shaker kitchen company in 2018.
Olive & Barr aim to break the mould and exceed customer’s expectations every step of the way. We are confident that Olive & Barr is the only Shaker kitchen company in the UK today that can provide impeccably high quality British craftsmanship at such good value.
…Grow Mighty Oaks
Olive & Barr has boundless verve and a deep-rooted passion for customer care. We provide an impeccable product at (seemingly) impossibly competitive prices.
We take nothing for granted and do our utmost to understand your needs and wishes from initial consultation right through to installation (and beyond). Each kitchen is as unique as you are, and we listen intently to your ideas before helping you to realise the beautiful bespoke kitchen you always imagined.
Harnessing the time-honoured traditions of yesteryear whilst simultaneously embracing the technological developments of the future drives success. Our handmade kitchens effortlessly combine traditional joinery techniques with modern technologies so that you receive a reassuringly iconic Shaker kitchen, without having to relinquish the cutting edge “bells and whistles” of a contemporary kitchen.
Sustainable, Responsible, Ethical
Olive & Barr is a fair, responsible company with sustainability at its core. We keep our prices low with clever business acumen and by streamlining our overheads; we never scrimp on quality or craftsmanship.
This is why our workshops and artisans are based right here in the West Country and why we use carefully-sourced materials which are both traceable and accountable. We know that little touches such as removing and recycling all packaging after installation is important to you, so it’s important to us too.
Our materials are accredited by the FSC (an international organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests), and we do our bit for the planet (and keep those overheads low!) by using the timber off cuts to heat our workshops. We do everything in our power to ensure that our company is one to be proud of, and one which our clients are proud to be affiliated with.
Handmade kitchens in the UK
All of our cabinetry is handmade right here in the UK using carefully-sourced materials. Our experience tells us that manufacturing in Britain offers superior workmanship so why would we settle for less? Using the finely-honed talents of local cabinet makers right here in our West Country workshop enables us to work organically and consistently – our reputation for excellence is vital, and we work hard to keep it that way.
Attention to Detail and Craftsmanship
We build our kitchens to last. Using a careful balance of traditional craftsmanship, modern technology and intuitive design, our handmade Shaker kitchens exude an unparalleled class with durability and functionality at their core.
If someone told you that you could have double the quality at half the price you would think it was too good to be true, right? Well that’s exactly what we offer here at Olive & Barr. In order to compete in an ever-crowded marketplace we cut costs but never compromise on quality.
15 year guarantee
We make and design our kitchens with the utmost care and take pride in the level of attention offered by our cabinet makers, designers and installation experts. In the unlikely event that you need it, all of our handmade kitchens carry a reassuring 15 year guarantee.
